Memphis in Motion is a group-based training program designed to meet your individual fitness goals. Are you looking to lose a few pounds? Get motivated to get off the couch? Run your first race? Complete a marathon? Then this is the group for you because we can meet just about any fitness goal you have.

The core program is based on a gentle, fat-burning, endurance-building run/walk method. This program is then supplemented by other cardio-and strength-building activities. The training is offered year-round, with workout options available on different days and times to fit into your schedule. For more info, see the Fitness Programs and Services.

Walkers and runners of all ages and abilities who want to experience high-quality training, led by an experienced coach in a positive group environment are encouraged to come out to a training session and "try it out."  We are a warm, welcoming, and diverse group.

Message From Mark

I am a highly motivated individual with many personal goals, including: living to be healthy, happy, and wise to 105 years old, running at least one marathon a year through age 80, initiating a “fitness revolution” in the lives of as many people as I can reach via my training programs and nutrition education programs, and training 1000 Greenies (first-timers) to cros a marathon finish line.

For those who dare to seek it, I am passionate about helping you discover the “fountain of youth” within yourself. This lifelong source of energy is available to anyone who possesses a positive mental attitude; practices sound nutrition concepts; and consistently works towards maintaining aerobic fitness, flexibility, and lean muscle mass through training. Achieving your goals

Even though Memphis in Motion is a group-based training program, it is designed to help individuals meet their own fitness goals. The program offers a variety of activities, information, and training opportunities. Some people simply want to lose weight while others want to qualify for the Boston Marathon. You may also be surprised by how many people join Memphis in Motion for basic fitness and then end-up completing a Marathon as their fitness and motivation increase! Many people have joyfully commented “I never knew I could do that!”

The activities offered as part of Memphis in Motion can be customized to meet your needs. As a certified, experienced coach, Mark can help you realize your goals no matter what they are. Here are a few ways in which Memphis in Motion can help you achieve your goals:

How to Start

Registration Policy: A completed Waiver and Memphis In Motion training application is required prior to participating in training. This will help me assess your current fitness level and present state of health. First-Timers: Please come a few minutes early to allow five minutes for paper work. You are welcome to “try it out” prior to joining our program.
